Quick guide on how to perform a MyFord Touch Master Reset
If you are experiencing problems with your SYNC and MyFord Touch system, you may perform a master reset yourself to solve many issues. This reset erases all saved data in your MyFord Touch system such as saved radio stations, call history, text messages, and previously paired phones and restores it to factory settings.
Before performing a master reset:
1. Your vehicle must be running and in Park to perform a master reset, no in accessory mode.
2. Make sure you are familiar with how to navigate your MyFord Touch system.
3. Make a note of any saved Navigation points and other personal data. These saved addresses will be lost in the reset.
4. Remove any connected USB devices or SD Cards from your vehicles media hub. If you have an SD Card Navigation System, remove this as well.
Using your touch screen, select the “Settings” button. Under settings, select the “System” tab.
Under the “System” settings screen, scroll down and select “Master Reset.”
When SYNC prompts you, select “Yes” to continue.
The screen will go black, then a SYNC logo will appear above a progress bar that will say “Performing scheduled system maintenance.” This means that your MyFord Touch system has successfully initiated a master reset. Please wait a few minutes while it finishes.
Once the progress bar fills up, you will be returned to the home screen. You have successfully perform a master reset. Go ahead and pair your phone, you will have to download your phone book once more. Also, re-save your personal addresses and favorite radio stations.
